ABOUT THE ARTIST
Catherine Jackson has had a long career as a working artist. Her website couldn’t possibly show the scope of her work from fine art prints, residential and commercial murals to commissioned paintings. This website does provide images of her current pursuit of painting on vintage windows.
This current body of work is a culmination of her technical expertise in printmaking, the ability to create images in reverse and backwards, and her career in homebuilding design, collecting old vintage windows.
Catherine was born in Texas and attended Southern Methodist University, receiving a B.A. in art and then attending Colorado State University and Northern Illinois University for her M.F.A. Her work has been showcased across America at some of the most prestigious permanent collections including Swedish American Hospital, AT&T Center, and Hilton Hotels. Since graduating, she became a master printer for the well celebrated Chicago artist Dale Osterlle, taught art at Rock Valley College, designed and painted murals, and worked as a designer for Austin custom home builders.
This body of work is unique because it takes what someone holds dear and puts it into a work of art. The images have ranged from beloved pets, location of a first date, a passionate athlete’s mountain bike to a bride’s wedding bouquet.
